There are several remedial measures that can be employed at home to make dry skin well nourished and beautiful. Just remember that you will have to follow all the methods correctly. You will have to make it a habit to care for your skin well and properly. To start with, make it a bedtime rule to wash your face with a soap free cleanser and apply a layer of moisturizer before you go to bed. This is probably the longest uninterrupted stretch of time the moisturizer will have to work on your skin. You can use simple olive oil or coconut oil for excellent results. This is a very economical and healthy moisturizer. You can also mix equal quantities of coconut oil and olive oil to increase the effectiveness of this homemade moisturizer. You should also make it a point to moisturize your skin every morning after your bath. At least once a week, you should pamper yourself with a homemade facial. This will help by cleansing and nourishing your skin and keeping it well hydrated. Start you facial by using a face scrub to thoroughly clean your skin. You can make your own scrub at home by mixing any cooking oil or coconut milk and crystallized sugar. Wipe the scrub with a warm washcloth and then steam your face. Steaming your face will open up skin pores and promote the absorption of the face pack. Make a face pack out of a few spoons of egg yolk and a spoon of ground pulses or sprouts. Add a little Fuller's earth to this mixture so that it forms a paste. Allow the face pack to dry and then wash it off with cold water. Add a drop of olive oil to a spoon of warm water and mix it well. Apply this on your face as it is a non-greasy moisturizer.

You can also make a face pack with fruits such as over ripe bananas, papayas and a small amount of honey. Mix and mash well and smooth this over your face for excellent results. Follow a regular skin care routine to keep your skin soft, clean and problem free. About once in two months, you should also get an extended version of this procedure - go for a full facial and try to get it professionally done if you can. You should also make sure you drink large amounts of water. This will also help by keeping your skin fresh and clean. Toxins will also be flushed out via perspiration and urine. Exercise should be inculcated as a daily regimen.
